Comparison of Short-Term Estrogenicity Tests for Identification of Hormone-Disrupting Chemicals [PDF]
The aim of this study was to compare results obtained by eight different short-term assays of estrogenlike actions of chemicals conducted in 10 different laboratories in five countries. Twenty chemicals were selected to represent direct-acting estrogens,

HNF3α Targets Nckap1l and Promotes Renal Fibrosis Following Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury
Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 3 alpha (HNF3α) is significantly upregulated in renal tubular epithelial cells of CKD patients and fibrotic mice. Deletion of HNF3α mitigates IRI‐induced renal fibrosis, while overexpression worsens it. HNF3α directly regulates NCK‐associated protein 1‐like (Nckap1l), whose overexpression exacerbates fibrosis.

Until now, estrogens are traditionally considered primarily as key hormones that perform critical functions in females, however, their role in males is not less important, although it remains understudied. However, a deep understanding of male physiology

Weak if any effect of estrogen on spatial memory in rats [PDF]
In a number of species, males appear to have spatial abilities that are superior to those of females. The favored explanation for this cognitive difference is hormonal: higher testosterone levels in males than in females.

This work utilizes spatial transcriptomics to map the transcriptional landscape of adenomyosis with obvious invagination structure from the invaginating site to deep lesions. By integrating with single‐cell RNA sequencing, this study elucidates the molecular features of invagination, invasion, and fibrosis, and finds the major participants and vital ...

Novel locally active estrogens accelerate cutaneous wound healing-part 2 [PDF]
Estrogen deprivation is associated with delayed healing, while estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) accelerates acute wound healing and protects against development of chronic wounds.

KLF5 is highly expressed in BLBC patients and promotes Cyclin D1 and XPO1 transcription, ultimately leading to the inactivation of RB1. Both XPO1 inhibitor (KPT‐330) and CDK4/6 inhibitor (Palbociclib) can enhance RB1 activity and exert antitumor effects. It has been proved that the combination of KPT‐330 and Palbociclib can inhibit the proliferation of

The MPA mouse breast cancer model: evidence for a role of progesterone receptors in breast cancer [PDF]
More than 60% of all breast neoplasias are ductal carcinomas expressing estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR). In contrast, most of the spontaneous, chemically or MMTV induced tumors, as well as tumors arising in genetically modified mice do not ...

Prefrontal FGF1 Signaling is Required for Accumbal Deep Brain Stimulation Treatment of Addiction
This research delineates that a cortical‐accumbal pathway and local FGF1 signaling in the medial prefrontal cortex are critical for NAc‐DBS to be effective in altering morphine CPP. These findings demonstrate a top‐down motif to regulate the therapeutic effects of subcortical DBS on addiction and support the potential for addiction treatments involving
