ACL rehabilitation after reconstruction: Evidence‐based consensus recommendations from the German Knee Society—Part IV

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 3, July 2026.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this consensus was to provide evidence‐based recommendations for individual rehabilitation interventions following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. These recommendations are intended to complement, rather than replace, comprehensive criterion‐based rehabilitation protocols.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy Modulates the Expressions of Proinflammatory Cytokines IL33 and IL17A, and Their Receptors ST2 and IL17RA, within the Articular Cartilage in Early Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head in a Rat Model

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2021
Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head (AVNFH) is a disease caused by injury to the blood supply of the femoral head, resulting in a collapse with osteonecrosis and damage to the articular cartilage. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) has been

A New Stage and Classification of Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head Based on MRI With Pathophysiological Interpretation

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 1448-1458, July 2026.
An MRI‐based classification system integrating fibrosis extent (F1–F3) and inflammatory bone marrow edema activity (E0–E3) was developed for osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Increasing fibrosis and edema severity were associated with higher collapse risk, worse pain, and poorer hip function.

Ultrasound‐Guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks for Percutaneous Treatments of Common Tendinopathies

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 6, Page 1139-1161, June 2026.
Objectives Ultrasound‐guided percutaneous needle fenestration (UPNF) and percutaneous needle tenotomy (UPNT) are minimally invasive procedures commonly used to treat chronic tendinopathies. However, these techniques can be painful, potentially limiting patient tolerance, satisfaction, and procedural feasibility. Although local anesthetics (LAs) provide

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Treatment (ESWT) enhances the in vitro-induced differentiation of human tendon-derived stem/progenitor cells (hTSPCs) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive and innovative technology for the management of specific tendinopathies. In order to elucidate the ESWT-mediated clinical benefits, human Tendon-derived Stem/Progenitor cells (hTSPCs) explanted ...
