Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Assessment of Feasibility of Sintered Fly Ash Lightweight Aggregate as an Effective Self-Curing Additive for Sustainable Concreting Practice [PDF]
Effective curing is an essential requirement for a desired long-term performance of concrete. For 1 cubic metre of hardened concrete, 3 cubic metre of water is required; most of which is consumed for curing, thereby leading to an unsustainable practice ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

BACKGROUND Due to the myopathic adverse events of statins, safer alternatives are being studied. Bempedoic acid (ETC-1002) is a novel low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)-lowering agent, currently under trial in hypercholesterolaemic patients ...

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Gluten free approach of biscuits preparation
Replacement of gluten is a challenging issue in preparation of the bakery products. The present work aimed to develop gluten-free biscuits by using gluten-free flours like rice, sorghum, and corn in different ratios (0, 25, 33.33, 50, and 100%).

Study of an Alternate Mechanism for the Origin of Fermion Generations
In usual extended technicolor (ETC) theories based on the group ${\rm{SU}(N_{ETC}})_{ETC}$, the quarks of charge 2/3 and -1/3 and the charged leptons of all generations arise from ETC fermion multiplets transforming according to the fundamental ...

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
