Etching Efficacy of Self-Etching Functional Monomers

Journal of Dental Research, 2018
Besides chemically interacting with hard tooth tissue, acidic functional monomers of self-etch adhesives should etch the prepared tooth surface to dissolve the smear layer and to provide surface micro-retention. Although the etching efficacy of functional monomers is commonly determined in terms of pH, the pH of adhesives cannot accurately be measured.

CO2‐Etching Creates Abundant Closed Pores in Hard Carbon for High‐Plateau‐Capacity Sodium Storage

Advanced Energy Materials, 2023
Hard carbon (HC) has become the most promising anode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), but its plateau capacity at ≈0.1 V (Na+/Na) is still much lower than that of graphite (372 mAh g−1) in lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs).

Hollow Engineering to Co@N‐Doped Carbon Nanocages via Synergistic Protecting‐Etching Strategy for Ultrahigh Microwave Absorption

Advanced Functional Materials, 2021
Rational manipulation of hollow structure with uniform heterojunctions is evolving as an effective approach to meet the lightweight and high‐performance microwave absorption for metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) derived absorbers.

To Etch or not to Etch [PDF]

open access: possible2018 IEEE Research and Applications of Photonics In Defense Conference (RAPID), 2018
Monocrystalline metallic nanoparticles are preferable for plasmonic applications, but grow preferably in polyhedral shapes which deviate from the pervasive spherical shape. Our simulations show that dimers of octahedral Au nanoparticles have higher field enhancement in the gap compared to dimers of spherical Au nanoparticles.

High‐Q Thin‐Film Lithium Niobate Microrings Fabricated with Wet Etching

Advances in Materials, 2022
Thin‐film lithium niobate (TFLN) has been widely used in electro‐optic modulators, acoustic‐–optic modulators, electro‐optic frequency combs, and nonlinear wavelength converters owing to the excellent optical properties of lithium niobate.

Etching kinetics of a self-etching primer

Biomaterials, 2002
Self-etching primers are thought to offer significant advantages over total-etch adhesive systems. The hypothesis tested in this study was that there was no difference in etching characteristics between a self-etching primer and a phosphoric acid solution at the same pH.
