Effects of ethephon on ethephon residue and quality properties of chili pepper during pre-harvest ripening

Journal of Food Science and Technology, 2020
The application of ethephon was investigated to examine its effects on both ethephon residue and quality properties of chili peppers during pre-harvest ripening with the goal of facilitating maximum commercial harvest along with improving color and flavor. A single ethephon treatment significantly increased L* and a* values and capsanthin concentration,

Hulless Barley Response to Ethephon Application

Crop Management, 2007
Ethephon [(2‐chloroethyl) phosponic acid] is commonly used in mid‐Atlantic barley production to reduce plant height and lodging, but is known to reduce grain yield and test weight in some barley cultivars. Management practices that produce high yield and good grain quality in traditional mid‐Atlantic winter barley have yet to be evaluated for hulless ...

Zum Rückstandsverhalten von Ethephon auf Stein‐ und Beerenobst. 1. Mitt. Ethephon‐Rückstände auf Süß‐ und Sauerkirschen

Food / Nahrung, 1976

Effects of ethephon on macadamia racemes

Journal of Horticultural Science, 1987
SummaryEthephon sprays applied to Macadamia integrifolia trees caused the abortion of elongating racemes. The critical concentration of ethephon for early raceme damage was between 400 and 800 mg l−1. Dormant racemes were less sensitive, and rapidly elongating racemes more sensitive to ethephon damage.

Environmental factors affecting ethephon in olive

Scientia Horticulturae, 1978
Abstract Inconsistent results of ethephon in field experiments in olive ( Olea europaea L.) are attributed to climatic differences and irrigation regimes. Physical measurements, using 14 C-2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid ( 14 C-CEPA) at pH 6.3 indicated 60% degradation within 5 h at 40° C.

Ethephon Advances Loblolly Pine Needle Cast

Forest Science, 1977
Abstract Potted 1-0 loblolly pine seedlings sprayed with 5,000 ppm acid equivalents of ethephon in water in early July promptly abscised most of their year-old fascicles. Neither survival nor current-year needles were affected, and lateral branching was reduced.
