Synthesis of imide/arylene ether copolymers for adhesives and composite matrices [PDF]

open access: yes
A series of imide/arylene ether copolymers were prepared from the reaction of an amorphous arylene ether oligomer and a semi-crystalline imide oligomer. These copolymers were thermally characterized and mechanical properties were measured.

Defect‐Free Block Copolymer‐Based Distributed Bragg Reflector for Optimized Light Harvesting in BiVO4 Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solution‐processed distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) film, integrated via block copolymer (BCP) self‐assembly, enhances photon recycling in BiVO4 photoanodes for improved photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. By tuning lamellar structures using lactic acid and cross‐linking density, the DBR film optimally shifts working wavelengths, boosting ...

Contact angle measurements of a polyphenyl ether to 190 C on M-50 steel [PDF]

open access: yes
Contact angle measurements were performed for a polyphenyl ether on steel in nitrogen. A tilting plate and a sessile drop apparatus were used. Surface tension was measured with a maximum bubble pressure apparatus.

Synthesis of polyethers of hexafluorobenzene and hexafluoropentanediol [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Two new polyethers, poly /hexafluoropentamethylene tetrafluoro-p-phenylene ether/ and a completely hydroxyl-terminated polyether, is prepared by reactions of hexafluorobenzene with hexafluoropentanediol.

A Transparent Semicrystalline Polymer Used in Thermally Responsive Smart Window Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A thermally responsive smart window is fabricated based on a transparent semicrystalline polymer via copolymerizing stearyl acrylate and ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate. The high transparency is achieved by restricting the crystal domain to nanometer size via ultraviolet curing at a high temperature.

Restraint‐Based ECG and Arterial Pressure Assessment Do Not Reliably Detect Drug Induced QTc Prolongation and Hypotension: Evidence From Case Studies

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science
Telemetry‐based methods are recommended as best practice for monitoring changes in cardiovascular (CV) function in conscious nonrodent species during the development of new chemical entities. Such methods allow for unrestrained data collection in animals

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.
