Construction of Covalent Organic Frameworks with Crown Ether Struts.

Angewandte Chemie, 2021
Crown ethers are a class of macrocyclic molecules with unique flexible structures but they are rarely integrated in covalent organic frameworks (COFs).

Impregnation and interlayer bonding behaviours of 3D-printed continuous carbon-fiber-reinforced poly-ether-ether-ketone composites

Composites. Part A, Applied science and manufacturing, 2019
Continuous carbon-fibre-reinforced poly-ether-ether-ketone (CCF/PEEK) composites have garnered particular attention owing to the excellent thermal-assistance, corrosion-assistance and mechanical properties.

Ether cystitis

Urology, 1978
Two children are reported in whom chemical cystitis developed when ether was used to dissolve a Foley catheter balloon that would not deflate. The irritative effects of ether and preventive measures are discussed.

Direct Silyl Ether Metathesis for Vitrimers with Exceptional Thermal Stability.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Vitrimers are a new class of polymeric materials that simulta-neously offer the desired physical properties of thermosets and malleability/reprocessability of thermoplastics. Despite significant progress being made in the field of vitrimers, there exists

Etheric biology

Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 2005
Several observations made during the course of studies on stealth-adapted viruses are explainable by a pervasive, energy-rich, ether environment. Activation of an alternative cellular energy (ACE) pathway provides stealth virus damaged cells with a repair mechanism that is independent of the cellular immune response.

Additive layer manufacturing of poly (ether ether ketone) via FDM

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2018
The present paper concerns the additive layer manufacturing of polyether-ether–ketone (PEEK) by means of fused deposition modelling (FDM). PEEK is a high-performance polymer (outstanding mechanical properties, high thermal stability and chemical ...

Ether lipids

Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2011
The naturally occurring 1-O-alkyl-sn-glycerols and their methoxylated congeners, 1-O-(2'-methoxyalkyl)-sn-glycerols, are biologically active compounds, ubiquitously found in nature as diacyl glyceryl ether lipids and phosphoether lipids. The chief objective of this article is to provide a comprehensive and up to date review on such ether lipids.

Upper critical solution temperature behaviour in poly(ether ether sulphone)/poly(ether ether ketone‐co‐ ether ether sulphone) blends

British Polymer Journal, 1988
AbstractUpper critical solution temperature (u.c.s.t.) phase behaviour was found in blends of the homopolymer poly(oxy‐1,4‐phenyleneoxy‐1,4‐phenylenesulphonyl‐1,4‐phenylene) (PEES) with the copolymer poly(oxy‐l,4‐phenyleneoxy‐l,4‐phenylenecarbonyl‐l,4‐phenylene‐co‐oxy‐l,4‐phenyleneoxy‐1,4‐phenylenesul‐phonyl‐1,4‐phenylene) (COPEEKS) for copolymer ...

Effect of dihydroxydiphenyl ether on poly(ether ether ketone)

Journal of Polymer Research, 1996
A series of modified poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) polymers were synthesized by introduction of addition ether groups from dihydroxydiphenyl ether (DHDE) into the PEEK structure. The inherent viscosity of the DHDE-modified PEEK increased with reaction time at 320 °C.
