Elucidating the Mechanism of Fast Na Storage Kinetics in Ether Electrolytes for Hard Carbon Anodes

Advances in Materials, 2021
The sodium storage performance of a hard carbon (HC) anode in ether electrolytes exhibits a higher initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and better rate performance compared to conventional ester electrolytes. However, the mechanism behind faster Na storage

Universal ether-based electrolyte chemistry towards high-voltage and long-life Na-ion full batteries.

Angewandte Chemie, 2021
Although ether-based electrolytes have been extensively applied in anode evaluation of batteries, anodic instability arising from solvent oxidability is always a tremendous obstacle to matching with high-voltage cathodes.

Intrinsic Nonflammable Ether Electrolytes for Ultrahigh-Voltage Lithium Metal Batteries Enabled by Chlorine Functionality.

Angewandte Chemie, 2022
The issues of inherent low anodic stability and high flammability hinder the deployment of the ether-based electrolytes in practical high-voltage lithium metal batteries.

Effect of dihydroxydiphenyl ether on poly(ether ether ketone) [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Polymer Research, 1996
A series of modified poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) polymers were synthesized by introduction of addition ether groups from dihydroxydiphenyl ether (DHDE) into the PEEK structure. The inherent viscosity of the DHDE-modified PEEK increased with reaction time at 320 °C.

Boron insertion into alkyl ether bonds via zinc/nickel tandem catalysis

Science, 2021
Slipping boron into alkyl ethers The carbon–oxygen bonds that hold alkyl ethers together are relatively inert. Lyu et al. report that zinc and nickel can team up to insert boron between the carbon and oxygen using an unusual mechanism.

Construction of Covalent Organic Frameworks with Crown Ether Struts.

Angewandte Chemie, 2021
Crown ethers are a class of macrocyclic molecules with unique flexible structures but they are rarely integrated in covalent organic frameworks (COFs).

Direct Silyl Ether Metathesis for Vitrimers with Exceptional Thermal Stability.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Vitrimers are a new class of polymeric materials that simulta-neously offer the desired physical properties of thermosets and malleability/reprocessability of thermoplastics. Despite significant progress being made in the field of vitrimers, there exists

ETHER AND HUMBUG

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1947
It is a great honor to be asked to participate in this centennial celebration of the first public use of ether anesthesia under the auspices of this great medical school and the internationally famous Massachusetts General Hospital, an institution which, in addition to its pioneer use of ether, has to its credit the revelation of the true nature of ...

Silyl Ether as a Robust and Thermally Stable Dynamic Covalent Motif for Malleable Polymer Design.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2017
Here we introduce silyl ether linkage as a novel dynamic covalent motif for dynamic material design. Through introduction of a neighboring amino moiety, we show that the silyl ether exchange rate can be accelerated by almost three orders of magnitude. By

K‐Ion Storage Enhancement in Sb2O3/Reduced Graphene Oxide Using Ether‐Based Electrolyte

Advanced Energy Materials, 2019
In this work, an ether‐based electrolyte is adopted instead of conventional ester‐based electrolyte for an Sb2O3‐based anode and its enhancement mechanism is unveiled for K‐ion storage.
