rDNAmine: A New Tool for the Analysis of Long Repetitive Sequences

open access: yesYeast, Volume 43, Issue 4, Page 170-183, July 2026.
This work introduces a novel approach for analysing long repetitive genomic sequences, combining a method to isolate large DNA molecules from individual chromosomes. We also describe the bioinformatics tool rDNAmine, which enables the isolation of long‐repeat sequences from reads obtained using the Oxford Nanopore method, as well as their preliminary ...

Flowcytometric and Allozymic Studies on the Korean Dandelion (Taraxacum, Asteraceae), With Special Reference to the Hybrid Origin of Taraxacum coreanum Nakai

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 41, Issue 4, July 2026.
We found that the Korean tetraploid Taraxacum coreanum (Co) shows fixed heterozygosity at two dimeric enzyme loci, sod‐1 (aaab) and mdh‐1 (bddd). Allele‐specific comparisons indicate that sod‐1 ‘a’ and mdh‐1 ‘d’ are characteristic of the triploid T. mongolicum (Mo) whereas the ‘b’ alleles at both loci match Korean diploids (e.g., T. hallaisanense, Ha).

Seed‐Associated Trichoderma and Their Potential as Biocontrol Agents Against Plant Diseases

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 7, July 2026.
Trichoderma is a genus of beneficial fungi widely used in agriculture. Over 2 years of routine seed health analyses, we investigated the diversity of seed‐borne Trichoderma strains associated with seeds from 32 cultivated plant species. We assessed their mycoparasitic activity and their potential for disease suppression and plant growth promotion ...

Mycobacterium avium Subsp. paratuberculosis and Human Endogenous Retrovirus in Italian Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 178, Issue 3, Page 417-427, July 2026.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), comprising ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), is a recognised gastrointestinal disorder. Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) is implicated in IBD pathogenesis. Persistent exposure and active infections by MAP may contribute to the unsilencing of human endogenous retroviruses (HERV ...

Flavobacterium oreochromis From Farmed Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum): Insights Into Genetic, Phenotypic and Pathogenic Diversity

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Flavobacterium spp. are the etiological agents of columnaris disease. Although there is evidence that columnaris poses a significant threat to the farming of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), there remains a large gap in understanding the genetic and phenotypic diversities of columnaris‐causing bacteria (CCB).
