Thermodynamics of ethyl iodide + benzene mixtures

Thermochimica Acta, 1990
Abstract The values of the excess Gibbs free energy of mixing G E for ethyl iodide + benzene and ethyl iodide + cyclohexane at 298.15 K have been obtained from the measured vapour pressure data. Heats of mixing H E of ethyl iodide + cyclohexane at 298.15 K have been measured over the entire composition range.

Photolysis of chlorimuron‐ethyl in benzene

Toxicological & Environmental Chemistry, 1997
Chlorirauron‐ethyl, a sulfonylurea herbicide was irradiated by ultra violet light from a medium pressure Hg lamp (>290 nm) in benzene solution using a quartz apparatus. Three major and six minor products were identified by spectroscopic methods. These products are formed by cleavage of sulfonylurea bridge, rearrangement, dechlorination etc. The rate of

The ototoxic effects of ethyl benzene in rats

Hearing Research, 1999
Exposure to organic solvents has been shown to be ototoxic in animals and there is evidence that these solvents can induce hearing loss in humans. In this study, the effects of inhalation of the possibly ototoxic solvent ethyl benzene on the cochlear function and morphology were evaluated using three complementary techniques: (1) reflex modification ...

Ethylation of Benzene. A Statistical Study

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Process Design and Development, 1968
A central composite rotatable experimental design was constructed for a statistical study of the ethylation of benzene in the liquid phase, with aluminum chloride catalyst, in an agitated tank system. The conversion of benzene and ethylene and the yield of monoethyl- and diethylbenzene are characterized by the response surface technique.

Fungal hydroxylation of ethyl benzene and derivatives

Tetrahedron Letters, 1985
Abstract The fungus Mortierella isabellina converts ethyl benzene and a number of parasubstituted derivatives to the corresponding optically active 1-phenylethanols with enantiomeric excesses between 5 and 40%. Hydrogen removal from the substrate preceeds product formation and is stereochemically independent of it.

Volumetric Properties of Ternary–Pseudobinary Mixtures [(Styrene + Ethyl Acetate or Benzene) + (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone + Ethyl Acetate or Benzene)]

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2007
The densities of the ternary-pseudobinary mixtures [(styrene + ethyl acetate or benzene) + (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone + ethyl acetate or benzene)], formed by adding the third component (ethyl acetate or benzene) to the binary system (styrene + ethyl acetate), have been measured as a function of composition by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter at ...
