Inflammatory Response‐Inspired Thermochromic Shield for Pneumatic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A thermochromic shield for pneumatic structures is developed, using anhydrous sodium acetate powder and thermochromic pigment‐included solution. In this shield composed of three layers, the exothermic and thermochromic reactions, followed by the mixture of both components, occur promptly with an incident of penetrating damage as a sign of initial ...

Mendelian randomization reveals potential causal relationships between cellular senescence-related genes and multiple cancer risks

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Cellular senescence is widely acknowledged as having strong associations with cancer. However, the intricate relationships between cellular senescence-related (CSR) genes and cancer risk remain poorly explored, with insights on causality remaining ...

A Vascular Microphysiological Model of Lung Fibrosis Reveals That Myofibroblasts and IPF Patient‐Derived Fibroblasts Impair Angiogenesis and Vasculogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A microphysiological lung fibrosis model recapitulates myofibroblast–vascular interactions. Induced myofibroblasts and patient‐derived IPF fibroblasts impair angiogenesis and increase vascular permeability via TGF‐β1–driven signaling. Pharmacological interventions with SB 431542 and VEGF supplementation restore vascular morphology and barrier function.

Crosstalk between acetylation modification and autophagy in cancer: roles, mechanisms, and therapeutic potential

open access: yesCell Death Discovery
Acetylation modification and autophagy are fundamental mechanisms regulating cell fate and homeostasis, exhibiting a highly coordinated and dynamic interplay in cancer development.

Structural Porosity and Low Mineral Density in Enamel Rods Drive Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uses advanced imaging modalities on multiple length scales to show that molar‐incisor hypomineralization does not present as a locally homogeneous pathology. Instead, microstructural defects, characterized through non‐mineralized, protein‐rich sheaths and an altered mineral structure in between prism rods, resulting in local differences in ...
