Spatial distribution pattern of the endangered endemic cycad Ceratozamia fuscoviridis (Zamiaceae) in central Mexico

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 40, Issue 6, Page 572-583, November 2025.
Spatial distribution pattern were studied for Ceratozamia fuscoviridis, an endangered species in Mexico, based on Ripley's K t and K 12 analysis. Clumped spatial distribution patters was found in individuals of all populations, suggesting low interaction with predators/dispersers and/or evidence of suitable microsites for cycads.

Feyerabend, Interculturalismo e Etnobiologia: algumas possíveis articulações no ensino de biologia
DOI: 10.5007/2175-7925.2011v24n3p129

open access: yesBiotemas, 2011
A formação do educador em biologia é marcada por uma abordagem cientificista, que legitima o conhecimento sobre biologia a partir da ciência ocidental em detrimento de outros conhecimentos sobre a vida.

Ecological and Morphological Traits Determine Community‐Wide Responses of Birds to Climate Change in a Tropical Dry Forest

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 52, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim We evaluate the potential consequences of climate change on the Caatinga Dry Forest, asking how the future climate would affect its avifauna under three different carbon emission scenarios. First, we evaluate potential climate‐induced distributional changes.

The preference for energetic resources is positively associated with predatory activity in ants

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 50, Issue 5, Page 921-932, October 2025.
We found that ants exhibit a stronger preference for foraging for carbohydrates and lipids (energetic nutrients) compared to amino acids. The increase in foraging for energetic nutrients compared to amino acids is positively correlated with foraging in larvae (insect predation). The nutrient preference between foraging for energetic nutrients and amino

Climate Change in the Brazilian Cerrado: A Looming Threat to Terrestrial Biodiversity

open access: yesWIREs Climate Change, Volume 16, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
Due to climate change, the Brazilian Cerrado, a global biodiversity hotspot, is becoming hotter and drier, with longer and more intense dry seasons. This alters biodiversity by altering plant physiology, ecological interactions, and species distribution, creating more homogeneous and less diverse communities.

Saberes tradicionais em uma unidade de conservação localizada em ambiente periurbano de várzea: etnobiologia da andirobeira (Carapa guianensis Aublet) [PDF]

open access: yesBoletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi.

Hide and Seek: Species Detectability in a Biodiversity Hotspot Increased by Environmental DNA

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 4, July–August 2025.
We demonstrated through Bayesian modeling that eDNA metabarcoding offers equivalent or higher detectability than traditional field inventory techniques for anuran species in a biodiversity hotspot. The number of recorded species was also higher in seven out of ten sampled streams.
