EUAs and CERs: Vector Autoregression, Impulse Response Function and Cointegration Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
EUAs are European Union Allowances traded on the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), while Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) arise from the Clean Development Mechanism under the Kyoto Protocol. These emissions assets attract an increasing attention

Sustainability Transitions in SMEs: Investigating Net‐Zero Adoption, Carbon Footprint Reduction, and Performance Outcomes

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research empirically validates an integrated framework that explains net‐zero‐emission adoption among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Extending the Technological‐Organizational‐Environmental (TOE) framework with the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) perspective, the research explains how internal capabilities

Implementing CDM Limits in the EU ETS: A Law and Economics Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) is the main instrument to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. Subject to a country specific limit, installations in the EU ETS can use EU allowances (EUA) and certified emissions reductions (CERs) generated

From Contingency Management to Transformative Climate Risk Adaptation? Analysis of Private Sector Agency in Navigating Complex Climate Risk Realities

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The growing complexity and severity of cross‐border climate risks characterised by non‐linear impact chains and deep uncertainty questions the capacity of environmental governance to tackle these problems effectively and in a just manner. To increase the efficiency of climate action, the private sector has been called upon to leverage market ...

Different Conditions, Yet Similar Outcomes: How Interaction Between Policy Areas Enabled Carbon Tax Adoption in Sweden and Mexico

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The interest in putting a price on carbon emissions is increasing in pace with the urgency of climate change. In this article we compare the adoption of one such policy instrument, carbon taxation, in the cases of Sweden and Mexico. We use a theoretical framework that focuses on economic and environmental factors influencing the policy process

Myocardial inflammation is associated with impaired mitochondrial oxidative capacity in ischaemic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1246-1255, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Myocardial inflammation and impaired mitochondrial oxidative capacity are hallmarks of heart failure (HF) pathophysiology. The extent of myocardial inflammation in patients suffering from ischaemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and its association with mitochondrial energy metabolism are unknown.

On the Planarity of Heterocyclic Bay‐Substituted Perylenediimides: Insight into the Fluorescent Photoinduced Electron Transfer Sensing Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Near‐infrared fluorescent pH indicators based on perylenediimide were constructed in a modular receptor–spacer–fluorophore–spacer–receptor format with heterocyclic amino moieties at the bay positions. Counterintuitively, the dibrominated intermediate with two heavy atoms is more emissive than the heterocyclic compounds.
