Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Economic Space Trajectory through Different Regional Growth Models [PDF]

open access: yes
Since the early 1990s, regional economic growth processes assume a key role in the EU policy agenda as a main tool to enhance social and economic convergence within the EU spatial landscape. Literature on regional economic growth and convergence provides

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Panel data evidence on non-Keynesian efects of fiscal policy in the EU New Member [PDF]

open access: yes
There is growing evidence that fiscal consolidation may contribute to economic growth even in the short term. In this paper we review recent research on such non-Keynesian fiscal policy effects and apply panel data econometric techniques to examine the ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Are Small countries leaders of the European tax competition ? [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this paper is to develop a better understanding of the literature dealing with strategic fiscal behaviours of small EU countries using estimations of tax reaction functions of competing national governments.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
