Enhancing Fuzzy C-Means Clustering with a Novel Standard Deviation Weighted Distance Measure

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم
The aim of this paper is to present a new approach to address the Fuzzy C Mean algorithm, which is considered one of the most important and famous algorithms that addressed the phenomenon of uncertainty in forming clusters according to the overlap ratios.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Improved quantum clustering analysis based on the weighted distance and its application

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
Cluster analysis is widely used in fields such as economics, management and engineering. The distance and correlation are two of the most important and often used mathematics- and statistics-based similarity measures in cluster analysis.

Heritage Debris Splicing Algorithm Based on Contour Line Two-way Distance Field [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
In the automatic reassembly of cultural fragments, because of the loss of the geometric characteristics caused by the damage of the fractured faces,an automatic reassembly algorithm based on the two-way distance field of the break-curves is proposed ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Feature Selection Combining Artificial Bee Colony with [K-means] Clustering [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue yu tansuo
K-means clustering is a simple and efficient, fast in convergence and easy to implement statistical analysis method. However, the traditional [K-means] clustering algorithm is sensitive to the selection of initial clustering centers and easy to fall into

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Novel complex fuzzy distance measures with hesitance values and their applications in complex decision-making problems

open access: yesScientific Reports
A complex fuzzy distance measure (CFDMs) plays a significant role in applications involving complex or high-dimensional data where traditional distance measures may not adequately capture the nuances of the data relationships.
