THE COMMON EVOLUTION OF GEOMETRY AND ARCHITECTURE FROM A GEODETIC POINT OF VIEW [PDF]
Throughout history the link between geometry and architecture has been strong and while architects have used mathematics to construct their buildings, geometry has always been the essential tool allowing them to choose spatial shapes which are ...

Semi‐supervised classification of fundus images combined with CNN and GCN
Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes, which is a kind of fundus lesion with specific changes. Early diagnosis of DR can effectively reduce the visual damage caused by DR. Due to the variety and different morphology of DR lesions, automatic classification of fundus images in mass screening can ...

Abstract Background and purpose For postoperative breast cancer patients, deformable image registration (DIR) is challenged due to the large deformations and non‐correspondence caused by tumor resection and clip insertion. To deal with it, three metrics (fiducial‐, region‐, and intensity‐based) were jointly used in DIR algorithm for improved accuracy ...

Grade 11 Students’ Reflections on their Euclidean Geometry Learning Experiences
The teaching of Euclidean geometry is a matter of serious concern in South Africa. This research, therefore, examined the Euclidean geometry learning experiences of 16 Grade 11 students from four South African secondary schools.

A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO CONGRUENCE OF QUADRILATERALS IN HYPERBOLIC GEOMETRY
In this paper we will prove new criteria for the congruence of convex quadrilaterals in Hyperbolic geometry and consequently, display the appropriate methodological approach in teaching the same.

Scaled relative graphs: nonexpansive operators via 2D Euclidean geometry [PDF]
Many iterative methods in applied mathematics can be thought of as fixed-point iterations, and such algorithms are usually analyzed analytically, with inequalities.
