Spherical functions on the de Sitter group

open access: yes, 2006
Matrix elements and spherical functions of irreducible representations of the de Sitter group are studied on the various homogeneous spaces of this group. It is shown that a universal covering of the de Sitter group gives rise to quaternion Euler angles.

Lagrangian Mechanics and Variational Integrators on Two-Spheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Euler-Lagrange equations and variational integrators are developed for Lagrangian mechanical systems evolving on a product of two-spheres. The geometric structure of a product of two-spheres is carefully considered in order to obtain global equations of ...

Direct Laser Writing of Magnetic Micro Actuators With a Stimulus‐Responsive Compliant Hinge

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile modular design strategy for adaptive 3D microactuators. Using two‐photon‐induced C,H insertion reactions within solid polymer layers, chemically distinct hinge and stimulus responsive materials are patterned in one step. The hinge's properties enable tunable motion, mechanical control, and reconfigurable actuation across

EQUATIONS OF SPATIAL MOTION OF A SOLID BODY WITH MOLDABLE FASTENING TO THE FOUNDATION (THE TASK OF DEPRECIATION IN SPACE)

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія, 2020
The task of fastening equipment, especially ship equipment, is considered important in conditions of vibration and shock. Equipment can be mounted on shock absorbers.

From Strain to Pressure: Atomically Resolved Mechanisms of Stress Dissipation in Emissive, Elastically Deformable Molecular Crystals Under Ambient and High Pressure

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular crystals must withstand both isotropic and anisotropic stress to function in flexible optoelectronics and high‐pressure devices. In situ high‐pressure single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction coupled with DFT‐D computations reveal how an emissive molecular crystal with interdigitated packing bends elastically at ambient‐pressure and remains ...

Teleoperation of robots carrying current intensity via electromagnetic fields – A quantum mechanical analysis

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
The master robot carries a current which is modeled as the sum of a classical current Jmc(t,r) and a quantum fluctuation current described by the Dirac field ψm(t,r) of electrons and positrons.

Geometrically exact planar Euler-Bernoulli beam and time integration procedure for multibody dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Modeling and Simulation in Engineering Sciences, 2020
A new formulation of geometrically exact planar Euler-Bernoulli beam in multi-body dynamics is proposed. For many applications, the use of the Euler-Bernoulli model is sufficient and has the advantage of being a nodal displacement-only formulation ...

Geometric Phases generated by the non-trivial spatial topology of static vector fields coupled to a neutral spin-endowed particle. Application to 171Yb atoms trapped in a 2D optical lattice

open access: yes, 2012
We have constructed the geometric phases emerging from the non-trivial topology of a space-dependent magnetic field, interacting with the spin magnetic moment of a neutral particle.

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Mathematical model of rigid body motion for the research of the “Dzhanibekov's effect”

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research
An alternative set of angles for determining the position of a rigid body, instead of Euler angles, is proposed. These angles were used to model the motion of a rigid body (rotor) rotating around a horizontal axis.
