Numerical Solutions of Stochastic Differential Delay Equations with Poisson Random Measure under the Generalized Khasminskii-Type Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
The Euler method is introduced for stochastic differential delay equations (SDDEs) with Poisson random measure under the generalized Khasminskii-type conditions which cover more classes of such equations than before.

Desingularization of Vortices for the Euler Equation [PDF]

open access: yesArchive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 2010
We study the existence of stationary classical solutions of the incompressible Euler equation in the plane that approximate singular stationnary solutions of this equation. The construction is performed by studying the asymptotics of equation $-\eps^2 Δu^\eps=(u^\eps-q-\fracκ{2π} \log \frac{1}{\eps})_+^p$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions and $q$ a ...

Grip and Grasp: Lizard Claw Inspired Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Our study identifies the most effective lizard claw shape for use as an end effector in a bioinspired robotic manipulator. By examining key geometric features and combining them into comparative indices, the Crotaphytus collaris claw is found to be the best fit.

A Perspective on Interactive Theorem Provers in Physics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Into an interactive theorem provers (ITPs), one can write mathematical definitions, theorems and proofs, and the correctness of those results is automatically checked. This perspective goes over the best usage of ITPs within physics and motivates the open‐source community run project PhysLean, the aim of which is to be a library for digitalized physics

Error Analysis and Model Adaptivity for Flows in Gas Networks

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2018
In the simulation and optimization of natural gas flow in a pipeline network, a hierarchy of models is used that employs different formulations of the Euler equations. While the optimization is performed on piecewise linear models, the flow simulation is

Approximation of functions in Hölder’s class and solution of nonlinear Lane–Emden differential equation by orthonormal Euler wavelets [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Numerical Analysis and Optimization
In this article, a method has been developed for the solution of a non-linear Lane-Emden differential equation based on orthonormal Euler wavelet series.

A higher order numerical method for transonic flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This thesis presents and verifies a numerical method for solving the compressible Euler equations. The method is based on a finite volume method with an upwind type TVD dissipation terms originally developed by Harten ( 1983 ) for scalar hyperbolic ...

Iterative procedure for multidimensional Euler equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A numerical iterative scheme is suggested to solve the Euler equations in two and three dimensions. The step of the iteration procedure consists of integration over the velocity which is here carried out by three different approximate integration methods,

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Convergence rate of numerical solutions to SFDEs with jumps

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we are interested in numerical solutions of stochastic functional differential equations with jumps. Under a global Lipschitz condition, we show that the pth-moment convergence of Euler–Maruyama numerical solutions to stochastic functional
