An identity of symmetry for the degenerate Frobenius-Euler Polynomials

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we prove an identity of symmetry for the higher-order degenerate Frobenius-Euler polynomials and derive the recurrence relations and multiplication theorem type result for the degenerate Frobenius-Euler polynomials.

Enhanced Control Strategies for Residual‐Vibration Suppression and Adaptive Tracking in Flexible Manipulator Under Unknown Bounded Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a hybrid control strategy for flexible‐link manipulators that combines offline trajectory planning with adaptive tracking to suppress residual elastic vibration (REV) under unknown bounded disturbances. A rigid–flexible coupling dynamics model is first established using the floating‐frame method and Lagrange's equations ...

Experimental and Modeling Investigation of Seawater Hydrolysis Effects on Aramid Fiber Rupture Behavior

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Hydrolytic aging in seawater produces markedly different mechanical responses among commercial Aramid fibers. While some fibers exhibit progressive degradation, others maintain stable or even improved tensile behavior. Experimental yarn‐scale testing combined with mathematical degradation modeling and Arrhenius‐based lifetime prediction provides new ...

Epistemic and aleatoric uncertainty quantification in weather and climate models

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Aleatoric and epistemic uncertainties over time on weather and climate time‐scales, estimated through ensembles that sample aleatoric and epistemic uncertainty using Bayesian neural networks for parameterisations in the Lorenz 1996 model. The spread shows the 16th and 84th percentiles.

On generalized Lucas polynomials and Euler numbers [PDF]

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes, 2010
In this paper we study the relationship between the generalized Lucas polynomials and the Euler numbers and give several interesting identities involving them.

New views of some invariants associated with the Cartesian 2D velocity gradient tensor

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Vorticity and divergence of horizontal flow are fundamental quantities in meteorology; both are linear functions of the four elements of the 2D velocity gradient tensor and both are formally unchanged under coordinate rotation. We explore four quadratic functions of the elements that are geometrically invariant in this sense, finding some novel ...

Propagation of internal gravity waves: Optimal vertical discretisation and grid design based on numerical error analysis

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
An energy‐conserving discrete framework for the vertical discretisation of stratified ocean models is developed using internal gravity‐wave theory. A β$$ \beta $$‐indexed family of schemes is analysed through perturbation theory, revealing optimal parameter choices and grid designs that reduce truncation errors significantly.

Multivariate Interpolation Functions of Higher-Order q-Euler Numbers and Their Applications

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2008
The aim of this paper, firstly, is to construct generating functions of q-Euler numbers and polynomials of higher order by applying the fermionic p-adic q-Volkenborn integral, secondly, to define multivariate q-Euler zeta function (Barnes-type Hurwitz q ...

Optimal Gain Selection for the Arbitrary‐Order Homogeneous Differentiator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Differentiation of noisy signals is a relevant and challenging task. Widespread approaches are the linear high‐gain observer acting as a differentiator and Levant's robust exact differentiator with a discontinuous right‐hand side. We consider the family of arbitrary‐order homogeneous differentiators, which includes these special cases.

Multivariate p-Adic Fermionic q-Integral on ℤp and Related Multiple Zeta-Type Functions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2008
In 2008, Jang et al. constructed generating functions of the multiple twisted Carlitz's type q-Bernoulli polynomials and obtained the distribution relation for them.
