Eupenicillium saturniforme, a New Species Discovered from Northeast China

Mycopathologia, 2009
A new Eupenicillium species, E. saturniforme was isolated from soil in Jilin Province, northeast China. Morphologically, it resembled E. shearii and E. tropicum, but is distinguished from them by slowly maturing cleistothecia, lenticular ascospores with nearly smooth-walled convex surfaces, strictly velutinous colony texture with abundant ...

Cellulases from Eupenicillium javanicum

1988
Publisher Summary Extracellular cellulases that a fungus produces usually consist of several components with different substrate specificities. These cellulase components act synergistically in the hydrolysis of crystalline cellulose. Eupenicillium javanicum produces several cellulase components in growth medium.

A new species from tropical soils, Eupenicillium tropicum

Mycological Progress, 2004
Forty-three strains of Eupenicillium tropicum sp. nov. were isolated from soils collected in India, Costa Rica and Galapagos, Ecuador. The species is characterized by biverticillate penicilli, slightly rough, subglobose to ovate conidia, brownish cleistothecia that become brown-gray with age, and ascospores with two equatorial flanges and slightly ...

Antifungal Cyclic Depsipeptide, Eujavanicin A, Isolated from Eupenicillium javanicum

Journal of Natural Products, 2008
In the course of searching for new antifungal agents, a new cyclic depsipeptide, eujavanicin A (1), was isolated from Eupenicillium javanicum as an antifungal agent against the human pathogenic filamentous fungus Aspergillus fumigatus. The structure of 1 was established by spectroscopic and chemical investigations.
