Synthesis, Characterization, and Optical Properties of Undoped and Te‐Doped W(SxSe(1−x))2 and Core‐Shell WS2@W(SxSe(1−x))2 Nanotubes

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 4, July 2026.
W(SxSe1−x)2, Te:WSSe, and WS2@WSSe nanotubes were synthesized through controlled precursor composition. The W(SxSe1−x)2 and Te:WSSe nanotubes exhibit small‐diameter (<30 nm), high‐yield, and well‐defined excitonic transitions. Composition tuning via S/Se ratios increases interlayer spacing with higher Se content. The incorporation of Te remains limited

Worldwide Invasions of Centrarchidae: The Dark Side of the Sunfish Family

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 27, Issue 4, Page 781-812, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Freshwater fish invasions are major drivers of global ecological change, disrupting native biodiversity and ecosystem functions. However, many invasive fish hold significant socioeconomic value, resulting in conflict over their management. Centrarchidae, which are globally distributed and are important for sportfishing and aquaculture, are now

Evolutionary Ecology of the European eel

open access: yes, 2014
The ongoing paradigm on the preservation of living resources argues that both the ecological and evolutionary background of exploited species should be taken into account as to devise effective and sustainable management practices. This perspective stems from the apparent ineffectiveness of traditional methods in preserving and predicting the dynamics ...

Foraging Ecology and Fisheries Interactions of Common Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) Inferred From Strandings in Western Iberian Atlantic Waters

open access: yesMarine Mammal Science, Volume 42, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) is a resident species along the Portuguese mainland coast, yet knowledge of its stranding patterns and feeding ecology is scarce. This study presents a comprehensive assessment of strandings (n = 264, from 1980 to 2019) and feeding ecology based on stomach content analysis (n = 43 from 1997 to

Thermal and Photocatalytic Conversion of CO2 to Ethanol: Advances in Catalyst Design, Challenges, and Opportunities

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 12, 26 June 2026.
This review examines thermo‐ and photocatalytic routes for converting CO2 to ethanol and analyzes how metal alloying, promoters, supports, surface structure, and semiconductor design govern catalyst activity, selectivity, and stability. It integrates mechanistic insights from experimental and theoretical studies and identifies the main challenges and ...

Electrodeposited MnCo and MnNiCo Spinels for Anion Exchange Membrane Direct Ammonia Fuel Cell Cathodes: An Alternative to Platinum

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Electrodeposited MnCoOX and MnNiCoOX spinels on Ni foam are evaluated as binder‐free, platinum group metal‐free cathodes in direct ammonia fuel cells. MnCoOX matches and surpasses Pt in oxygen reduction performance while tolerating ammonia crossover, whereas Ni incorporation dilutes the active Co–Mn sites and degrades performance.
