Eurotiomycetes: Eurotiomycetidae and Chaetothyriomycetidae [PDF]
The class Eurotiomycetes (Ascomycota, Pezizomycotina) is a monophyletic group comprising two major clades of very different ascomycetous fungi: (i) the subclass Eurotiomycetidae, a clade that contains most of the fungi previously recognized as Plectomycetes because of their mostly enclosed ascomata and prototunicate asci; and (ii) the subclass ...

Finding the missing link: Resolving the Coryneliomycetidae within Eurotiomycetes [PDF]
Species belonging to the Coryneliaceae and parasitizing Podocarpaceae hosts were collected from different locations in South Africa and studied morphologically by light microscopy and molecularly by obtaining partial nrDNA (ITS-1/5.8S/ITS-2, 18S and 28S)

A new lineage of mazaediate fungi in the Eurotiomycetes: Cryptocaliciomycetidae subclass. nov., based on the new species Cryptocalicium blascoi and the revision of the ascoma evolution [PDF]
The class Eurotiomycetes (Ascomycota, Pezizomycotina) comprises important fungi used for medical, agricultural, industrial and scientific purposes. Eurotiomycetes is a morphologically and ecologically diverse monophyletic group. Within the Eurotiomycetes,

5 Pezizomycotina: Eurotiomycetes [PDF]
The class Eurotiomycetes is a morphologically and ecologically diverse clade of filamentous ascomycetes (Ascomycota; Pezizomycotina). Based on a series of molecular phylogenetic discoveries, the taxonomic concept has expanded significantly in the past decade.

Dolabra nepheliae on rambutan and lychee represents a novel lineage of phytopathogenic Eurotiomycetes [PDF]
Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) and lychee (Litchi chinensis) are tropical trees in the Sapindaceae that produce delicious edible fruits and are increasingly cultivated in tropical regions. These trees are afflicted with a stem canker disease associated with the ascomycete Dolabra nepheliae.

The subclass Chaetothyriomycetidae (Eurotiomycetes, Ascomycota) is an assemblage of ecologically diverse species, ranging from mutualistic lichenised fungi to human opportunistic pathogens. Recent contributions from molecular studies have changed our understanding of the composition of this subclass.

Phylogenetic relationships of the lichen genus Polyblastia and closely related taxa in the family Verrucariaceae (Verrucariales, Chaetothyriomycetidae) were studied. A total of 130 sets of sequences (nuLSU rDNA, nuITS rDNA and RPB1 region A-D), including 129 newly generated sequences, were analysed.

During our studies of freshwater fungi from Thailand, a new species Minimelanolocus nonramosus and a new collection of Thysanorea papuana were identified using morphological characters and phylogenetic analyses based on LSU, SSU, and ITS genes. After re-examination of herbarium material, Thysanorea aquatica is synonymized with Th. papuana.
