A new lineage of mazaediate fungi in the Eurotiomycetes: Cryptocaliciomycetidae subclass. nov., based on the new species Cryptocalicium blascoi and the revision of the ascoma evolution [PDF]

open access: yesMycological Progress, 2021
The class Eurotiomycetes (Ascomycota, Pezizomycotina) comprises important fungi used for medical, agricultural, industrial and scientific purposes. Eurotiomycetes is a morphologically and ecologically diverse monophyletic group. Within the Eurotiomycetes,

Molecular phylogenetic analyses and micromorphology reveal placement of the enigmatic tropical discomycete Polydiscidium in Sclerococcum (Sclerococcales, Eurotiomycetes)

Mycologia, 2022
Polydiscidium is an enigmatic, monotypic, and rarely reported genus of Ascomycota of uncertain placement. The morphologically unique Polydiscidium martynii grows on dead wood and forms compound ascomata composed of thick, black, gelatinous somatic tissue

Freshwater hyphomycetes in Eurotiomycetes: a new species of Minimelanolocus and a new collection of Thysanorea papuana (Herpotrichiellaceae)

Mycological Progress, 2019
During our studies of freshwater fungi from Thailand, a new species Minimelanolocus nonramosus and a new collection of Thysanorea papuana were identified using morphological characters and phylogenetic analyses based on LSU, SSU, and ITS genes. After re-examination of herbarium material, Thysanorea aquatica is synonymized with Th. papuana.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Paecilomyces hepiali (Ascomycota, Eurotiomycetes)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2016
Paecilomyces hepiali, belonging to the Eurotiales order Ascomycota, is an endoparasitic fungus that commonly exists in the natural Cordyceps sinensis anamorph stage. Here, we report the complete mitochondrial DNA sequences of P. hepiali for the first time. The genome is 24,245 bp in length, encoding 15 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 rRNA genes, 25 tRNA
