Effect of Nickel–Cobaltite Nanoparticles on Production and Thermostability of Cellulases from Newly Isolated Thermotolerant Aspergillus fumigatus NS (Class: Eurotiomycetes)

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2014
In the present study, effect of nickel-cobaltite (NiCo2O4) nanoparticles (NPs) was investigated on production and thermostability of the cellulase enzyme system using newly isolated thermotolerant Aspergillus fumigatus NS belonging to the class Euratiomycetes. The NiCo2O4 NPs were synthesized via hydrothermal method assisted by post-annealing treatment

Molecular data place the hyphomycetous lichenicolous genus Sclerococcum close to Dactylospora (Eurotiomycetes) and S. parmeliae in Cladophialophora (Chaetothyriales)

Fungal Diversity, 2012
The lichenicolous anamorphic fungus Sclerococcum parmeliae was isolated in pure culture, and ITS, nuLSU and mtSSU sequences were obtained from these isolates. For comparison, sequences from S. sphaerale, the generic type, were obtained directly from freshly collected specimens. Phylogenetic analyses place S.

Construction of the lichenized aerial mycelium in Botryolepraria (Verrucariales; Eurotiomycetes; Ascomycota): A somatic structure unique among fungi

American Journal of Botany
AbstractPremiseLichen‐forming fungi of genus Botryolepraria build no compact thalli, yet elevate and display algal symbionts upon their open, aerial mycelium. Although Botryolepraria occurs worldwide, the construction of its unique somatic form has not been examined in detail. We applied light microscopy and SEM to better understand how it is built and

Amazonian diversity of Penicillium Link (Eurotiomycetes, Ascomycota) in the culture collection of the National Institute of Amazonian Research, with description of a new species

open access: yesActa Amazonica
ABSTRACT Penicillium Link is a widely known genus of ascomycetes, with a worldwide distribution, mainly known for its use in the food industry and production of mycotoxins. Considering the importance of culture collections as repositories of microbial biodiversity, we carried out a polyphasic taxonomic review of fungi of the genus Penicillium preserved

Pseudosclerococcum golindoi gen. et sp. nov., a new taxon with apothecial ascomata and a Chalara-like anamorph within the Sclerococcales (Eurotiomycetes)

Mycological Progress, 2019
Sclerococcales encompasses a heterogeneous group of fungi, with most of the species included in the genus Sclerococcum (= Dactylospora). Species of Sclerococcum are characterized by having apothecial ascomata with asci covered by an external hemiamyloid gelatin and a thick euamyloid apical cap, while lacking an inner amyloid wall thickening.

Exophiala hongheensis (Herpotrichiellaceae, Chaetothyriales, Eurotiomycetes), a new endophytic species on Amomum tsao-ko in Yunnan, China

Phytotaxa
An endophytic fungal species of Exophiala was isolated from the fruits of Amomum tsao-ko during an investigation of the fungal diversity associated with A. tsao-ko in Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. Morphological characteristics and the combined internal transcribed spacer (ITS), large subunit nuclear rDNA (LSU), and small subunit nuclear ...

Thermofloridus, a new genus of Eurotiomycetes associated with Vaccinium myrsinites from the Florida scrub ecosystem

Thermofloridus, a new genus of Eurotiomycetes is described based on cultures isolated from the root of apparently healthy shiny blueberry (Vaccinium myrsinites) plants collected from a scrub ecosystem in Florida. Multi-gene phylogenetic analyses based on ITS, 18S, 28S, BENA, and Tsr1 support that Thermofloridus is a monophyletic clade in ...
