Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

pH Effect on the Formation of Deep-Eutectic-Solvent-Based Aqueous Two-Phase Systems

open access: yes, 2018
Deep eutectic solvents (DES) are an emerging type of green solvents that have been used in aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS). However, its application in ATPS can present some limitations, due to the nonstoichiometric partition between the two aqueous ...

Fabrication and Properties for Thermal Neutron Detection of 6LiCl/Rb2CeCl5 Eutectic Scintillator

open access: yesCrystals
The 3He gas is commonly used for the detection of thermal neutrons. However, with the depletion of 3He gas, there is a need to develop new solid scintillators for thermal neutron detection.

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

On the advanced microstructural characterisation of additively manufactured alumina-zirconia based eutectic ceramics: Overview and outlook

open access: yes, 2022
Recently, there have been a number of reports on the fabrication of Alumina-Zirconia (Al2O3-ZrO2 (AZ))-based eutectic ceramics using laser additive manufacturing (AM) techniques owing to the exceptional creep and oxidation resistance coupled with ...

Eutectozymes as Soft Hybrid Materials for Advanced Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Eutectozymes are sustainable hybrid materials that embed a GOx–HRP cascade within hydrophobic eutectogels featuring a dual supramolecular–covalent network. This architecture preserves native enzyme structure and stability, enables efficient heterogeneous biocatalysis in aqueous media, and positions eutectogels as robust platforms for next‐generation ...

Thermodynamic Limits to Molecular Doping in Conjugated Polymers: A Perspective on Phase Behavior and Miscibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.
