Nutritional evaluation of elephant grass hybrids
The nutritive value with regard to stage of maturity of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) hybrids is largely unknown. Elephant grass (KW,) and its hybrids namely, ILCA16786, ILCA16837, ILCA16791.and ILCA16798 were evaluated to determine the effect of stage of maturity on dry matter yields (DM), chemical composition, intake and digestibility by ...

Evaluation of Ornamental Grasses for the Northern Great Plains [PDF]
Abstract A total of 160 grass or grass-like species/cultivars were evaluated under field conditions for a period of four years. Detailed assessments of survival, growth and development are presented. Horticultural evaluations were completed on all material, providing a basis for making recommendations for utilization of grasses in the landscape

Evaluation of Native and Introduced Grasses for Reclamation and Production [PDF]
Crested wheatgrass (Agropyron cristatum [L.] Gaertn.) and Russian wildrye (Elymus junceus Fisch.) are commonly used for reseeding in the more xeric Mixed Prairie of the Canadian prairies because they are perceived to be more productive than native species. Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Effect of Growth Period on Cell Wall Mechanical Properties of Elephant Grass
Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) is a fast-growing native African plant species that produces commercially useful lignocellulosic biomass. It has been used in many countries to replace wood for paper, particleboard, and fiberboard. There is a
