220 Evaluation of Forage Quality of Crested Wheat Grass

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science, 2022
Abstract An experiment evaluated forage value of crested wheat grass (CWG) harvested from Western Nebraska over a 2-year period (2019-2020). Two large pastures, comprised of 95% CWG, were divided into 13 paddocks (34.4 ha, 3 paddocks and 42.5 ha, 10 paddocks). Within each pasture, 2 paddocks were assigned at random for sampling.

Biases in the albedo sensitivity to deforestation in CMIP5 models and their impacts on the associated historical radiative forcing [PDF]

open access: yesEarth System Dynamics, 2020
Climate model biases in the representation of albedo variations between land cover classes contribute to uncertainties on the climate impact of land cover changes since pre-industrial times, especially on the associated radiative forcing.

Evaluation of strips of centipede grass for sediment load reduction

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2008
Reddish sediment runoff from agricultural fields results in coastal environmental problems in Okinawa, Japan. Recent studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of strips of centipede grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides (Munro) Hack.), a perennial turf grass, in reducing the sediment loads from farmlands. However, sufficient information has not been provided
