LECalib: Line-based event camera calibration

Measurement: Journal of the International Measurement Confederation
Camera calibration is an essential prerequisite for event-based vision applications. Current event camera calibration methods typically involve using flashing patterns, reconstructing intensity images, and utilizing the features extracted from events ...

Object Tracking with a Fusion of Event-Based Camera and Frame-Based Camera

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceThe framed-based camera is commonly used for object tracking tasks. However, under poor light conditions, the frame camera cannot work properly and provide stable detection for the tracking system.

Representing motion information from event-based cameras

2017 26th IEEE International Symposium on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN), 2017
Many recent works have successfully leveraged motion information (i.e., dense optical flow) for a variety of problems. In this paper, we introduce a methodology to capture motion information using high-speed event-based cameras combined with convolutional neural networks (CNN).

Bayes classification for asynchronous event-based cameras

2015 23rd European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2015
Asynchronous event-based cameras use time encoding to code the pixel intensity values. A time encoding of an input pattern generates a random stream of asynchronous events. An event is defined as a pair containing a timestamp and the variation sign of the input signal since the last emitted event.

Towards Event-Based State Estimation for Neuromorphic Event Cameras

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2022
In this work, a dynamic information extraction problem for neuromorphic event cameras is investigated from a state estimation perspective. The ego-motion pose estimation task of an event camera is formulated as a state estimation problem for a finite-state hidden Markov model subject to a special event-triggering mechanism.

Spatio-Temporal Fusion Spiking Neural Network for Frame-Based and Event-Based Camera Sensor Fusion

IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence
Traditional frame-based cameras capture high-resolution images at specific sampling rates while suffering from motion blur and uneven exposure. Emerging event-based cameras can address these issues with event-driven sampling, but fail to capture texture ...

Visual Tracking Using Neuromorphic Asynchronous Event-Based Cameras

Neural Computation, 2015
This letter presents a novel computationally efficient and robust pattern tracking method based on a time-encoded, frame-free visual data. Recent interdisciplinary developments, combining inputs from engineering and biology, have yielded a novel type of camera that encodes visual information into a continuous stream of asynchronous, temporal events ...
