The maximal steady state versus selected running events

Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, 1981
To investigate the relationship between the maximal steady state (MSS) and selected running events, seven males (mean = 37.6 years) who were experienced competitive distance runners were studied. From a series of 10-min steady-state treadmill runs, MSS (treadmill velocity, VO2, or heart rate where lactic acid concentration was 2.2 mM/L of venous blood)

Maximizing lifetime of event-unobservable wireless sensor networks

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 2011
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs) contextual information such as the information regarding whether, when, and where the data is collected cannot be protected using only traditional measures (e.g., encryption). Contextual information can be protected against global eavesdroppers by periodic packet transmission combined with dummy traffic filtering at ...

Mining Maximal Co-located Event Sets

2011
A spatial co-location is a set of spatial events being frequently observed together in nearby geographic space. A common framework for mining spatial association patterns employs a level-wised search method (like Apriori). However, the Apriori-based algorithms do not scale well for discovering long co-location patterns in large or dense spatial ...

Combatting Burnout by Maximizing Medical Student Participation in Exercise Events

American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, 2021
Physicians have a higher risk of burnout than many other professions, and burnout is associated with less altruistic professional values, worse patient–doctor relationships, and increased medical errors. Burnout begins in medical school, such that institutions should intervene early to facilitate increased engagement in forms of self-care, including ...

Earning events based investment strategies for maximized profit

2023
Short-term stocks trading can be based on quantitative or qualitative factors. Company earnings reports seem to provide quantitative signals at regular intervals which is used by short-term traders and long-term investors alike. In this study, we tackle the question of whether we can create stock portfolios that outperform the broader US market based ...

Maximalization on Event Types

2000
In this lecture, I will propose an analysis of cumulative readings involving non-upward entailing noun phrases. I will do this by addressing the more general problem of how to deal with non-upward entailing information in the Davidsonian theory.

Maximal indecomposable past sets and event horizons

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 1984
It is known [\textit{R. Geroch}, \textit{E. H. Kronheimer} and \textit{R. Penrose}, Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 327, 545-567 (1972; Zbl 0257.53059)] that space-times generally have a boundary, defined by certain past and future sets. A past set is one which coincides with its own past; it is indecomposable if it is not the union of two past sets.
