STRUCTURAL-SEMIOTIC PATTERNS OF WEATHER OMENS AND THEIR SEMANTIC-FUNCTIONAL CLASSES

open access: yesJuvenis Scientia, 2019
The technique of reconstructing the thematic pairs of weather omens does not reveal the patterns for their formation. This strategy of analysis does not provide an answer to the question of how a particular event situation is related to a specific ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Two-Stream Modeling for Document-Level Event Argument Extraction Using Contextual Clue and AMR Structures

open access: yesIET Software
Document-level (Doc-level) event argument extraction (EAE) needs to deal with longer text inputs and complex semantic relationships than sentence-level, making it a challenging information extraction task.

The role of environments with extreme ecological conditions in the reductive evolutionary development processes of animal [PDF]

open access: yesبوم‌شناسی آبزیان, 2016
Different groups of animals show phenotypic characters, which have been resulted by the reductive phenomena. The examples are the absence of pigmentation; dwindle of eyes in some cave-living animals, and also the absence of scale in some fishes.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Severe episodic memory impairment after strategic infarct: A case report

open access: yesDementia & Neuropsychologia
. Brain infarcts located in strategic regions often result in cognitive impairment. Based on a case study, this paper describes unusual and specific clinical and neuropsychological features of a strategic ischemic lesion in the left medial temporal lobe (

Preference-Dependent Unawareness [PDF]

open access: yes
Morris (1996, 1997) introduced preference-based definitions of knowledge of belief in standard state-space structures. This paper extends this preference-based approach to unawareness structures (Heifetz, Meier, and Schipper, 2006, 2008).
