Three excavation seasons at this site (2021–2023) have uncovered a massive building constructed in the late third or early fourth cent.

Disturbance from fire mediates a potential ecophysiological trade‐off between adult performance and juvenile recruitment in the microendemic lizard Ameivula jalapensis. While open, burned habitats enhance adult thermoregulation and condition, unburned patches remain critical for juvenile thermal optima.

Uncovering the Genetic Landscape of Pediatric Hearing Loss Along the Texas–Mexico Border

Project GIVE provided evaluations and genome sequencing to 23 children with hearing loss along the Texas–Mexico border. Seventy percent received a molecular diagnosis and 56% of those diagnosed had changes to medical management. In this region, underdiagnosis of genetic hearing loss is due to care barriers rather than lower genetic burden.

Description of rare congenital condition of eyelid imbrication with floppy eyelid and spontaneous eversion in a healthy newborn. The main feature is the bilateral overlapping of lower eyelids by floppy upper eyelids during resting period and sleep.
