The Effect of the Coronal Alignment of Extension Stem on Component Displacement and Stress During Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Finite Element Study

Kinematic alignment (KA) increases prosthesis displacement and reduces stress shielding in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), while short extension stems reduce prosthesis displacement but increase stress shielding, and their combination may have complementary effects.
