Integrated radiogenomics models predict response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in high grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
High grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is a highly heterogeneous disease that typically presents at an advanced, metastatic state. The multi-scale complexity of HGSOC is a major obstacle to predicting response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and ...

Permafrost Distribution in the Canadian Rockies: Key Variables Influencing Patch‐Scale Variability

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The spatial distribution of permafrost in mountainous regions is influenced by various factors such as topography, climate, vegetation, and substrate. Despite the existence of comprehensive permafrost maps at national and global levels, they fail to accurately represent the patch‐scale (e.g., < 25 m) permafrost distribution in characteristic ...

Haralick Texture Analysis of prostate MRI: Utility for differentiating non-cancerous prostate from prostate cancer and differentiating prostate cancers with different Gleason Scores

open access: yesEuropean Radiology, 2015
ObjectivesTo investigate Haralick texture analysis of prostate MRI for cancer detection and differentiating Gleason scores (GS).MethodsOne hundred and forty-seven patients underwent T2- weighted (T2WI) and diffusion-weighted prostate MRI. Cancers ≥0.5 ml

The effect of romifidine on endoscopic grading of laryngeal function in horses

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background To our knowledge, the effect of sedation with romifidine on the grading of laryngeal function in horses has not been studied. Our objective was to examine the effects of romifidine on the grading of laryngeal function and the cross‐sectional area of the rima glottis (CSARG). Methods Ten horses underwent three endoscopic examinations

Intra‐Seasonal Crop Management and the Potential Benefit of Seasonal Precipitation Forecasts: Farm‐Level Embedded Risk Analysis in Ethiopia

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How large is the potential benefit for farmers from obtaining forecasts of total rainfall in the upcoming season? This critically depends on the local farm system and the crop management actions available to farmers to respond to the forecasts issued. Studies assessing the financial value of seasonal precipitation forecasts have so far focused

Updated prostate imaging reporting and data system (PIRADS v2) recommendations for the detection of clinically significant prostate cancer using multiparametric MRI: critical evaluation using whole-mount pathology as standard of reference

open access: yesEuropean Radiology, 2015
ObjectivesTo evaluate the recommendations for multiparametric prostate MRI (mp-MRI) interpretation introduced in the recently updated Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2 (PI-RADSv2), and investigate the impact of pathologic tumour volume

Productivity and Human Disturbance Shape Contrasting Distribution Patterns of Core and Occasional Bird Species in a Subtropical Forest Reserve in Southern China

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Bird diversity hot spots in a recovering subtropical forest do not align with protected area zoning, instead occurring in experimental zones with low‐intensity human activity. This mismatch is driven by contrasting responses: Abundant core species are supported by productivity, while many species of low frequency are attracted to the habitat ...

Sanitation felling against the European spruce bark beetle: A matter of intensity and forest type Tagli fitosanitari contro il bostrico tipografo: una questione di intensità e tipologia forestale

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.
