Visual evoked potentials in neurosyphilis. [PDF]
The visual evoked potential (VEP) to pattern reversal was recorded in 79 patients with neurosyphilis. Sixteen patients (20%) had abnormal VEP latencies with a predominance of pathological VEP values in the group of tabes dorsalis (50%) as compared to general paresis (18%) or meningovascular forms (13%).

Visually induced analgesia: seeing the body reduces pain [PDF]
Given previous reports of strong interactions between vision and somatic senses, we investigated whether vision of the body modulates pain perception. Participants looked into a mirror aligned with their body midline at either the reflection of their own

Abnormal evoked potentials in autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy
Autoimmune GFAP astrocytopathy is a new clinical entity and only a limited number of cases have been reported. Here we report the results of multimodal central conduction studies performed in a case of this disorder.A 72-year-old woman developed gradual ...

Gain modulation of synaptic inputs by network state in auditory cortex in vivo [PDF]
The cortical network recurrent circuitry generates spontaneous activity organized into Up (active) and Down (quiescent) states during slow-wave sleep or anesthesia.

Pattern visual evoked potentials in dyslexic children
Purpose: This study aimed to compare pattern visual evoked potential (PVEP) components in dyslexic and normal children. Methods: This cross-sectional analytic study recruited 72 children, including 36 dyslexic and 36 normal participants aged 8-12 years ...

Phototrophs evolved light‐harvesting systems adapted for efficient photon capture in habitats enriched in far‐red radiation. A subset of eukaryotic pigment‐binding proteins can absorb far‐red photons via low‐energy chlorophyll states known as red forms.

Electrophysiological Organization of the Eye of Aplysia [PDF]
The eye of Aplysia californica was studied by electrophysiological and histological methods. It has a central spheroidal lens which is surrounded by a retina composed of several thousand receptor cells which are replete with clear vesicles, pigmented ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.
