Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

INSM1 governs a neuronal progenitor state that drives glioblastoma in a human stem cell model

open access: yesNature Communications
Glioblastoma is a lethal brain cancer marked by functional plasticity driven by tumor cell-intrinsic mutations and their interplay with developmental programs.

The trench-trench-trench type triple junction and tectonic evolution of Japan [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The topography around the trench-trench-trench triple junction off the Kanto Plain and Neogene tectonic evolution of the Japanese Island Arcs have been examined. The most important factors for the tectonics are the deformations of the subductive boundary

Initiation and evolution of triple flames subject to thermal expansion and gravity

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate the combined effects of thermal expansion and gravity on the initiation and evolution of triple flames. In particular, we provide a possible criterion for the thermal energy per unit depth required for triple flame ignition by a ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Conceptualising Cluster Evolution: Beyond the Life-Cycle Model? [PDF]

open access: yes
Although the literature on the evolution of industrial clusters is not vast, a preferred approach has already become evident, based around the idea of a cluster 'life-cycle'. This approach has several limitations.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Progress of Analytical Techniques and Application of Triple Oxygen Isotopes in Dissolved Oxygen

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes
Oxygen is one of the essential elements in Earth's ecosystem, with stable isotopes including δ16O,δ17O,and δ18O. The composition of oxygen stable isotopes (δ17O,δ18O) exhibits different fractionation patterns in various biogeochemical reactions, making ...
