An Efficient Evolutionary Programming

2008 International Symposium on Information Science and Engineering, 2008
Premature convergence is the fatal shortcoming of traditional evolutionary programming. In this paper, based on the analysis of traditional evolutionary programming premature convergence, an improved multi-subgroup evolutionary programming (MEP) algorithm is proposed. In this algorithm, evolution of many subgroups is paralleled performed with different

A modified evolutionary programming

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Evolutionary Computation, 2002
In this paper, a new modified method based on guided evolutionary programming is proposed. The Cauchy distribution is used to replace the Gaussian distribution for creating offspring from their parents. The experiment results show that the modified evolutionary programming is a fast global optimization technique.

The quantum evolutionary programming

Proceedings Fifth International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Multimedia Applications. ICCIMA 2003, 2004
Evolutionary programming (EP) is an efficient algorithm in solving optimization problems, but the criterion EP is of torpid convergence. In this paper, a novel kind of algorithm, the quantum evolutionary programming (QEP), is proposed based on the combination of quantum theory with evolutionary theory.

Evolutionary Programming and Genetic Programming

1996
In this chapter we review briefly two powerful evolutionary techniques; these are evolutionary programming (section 13.1) and genetic programming (section 13.2). These two techniques were developed a quarter of a century apart from each other; they aimed at different problems; they use different chromosomal representations for individuals in the ...

Evolutionary programming Kalman filter

Information Sciences, 2000
The authors consider discrete-time linear and nonlinear systems with uncertain parameters. The uncertainty is specified by restricting the parameters to intervals rather than single values. The statistical assumptions remain the same as in the classical Kalman filter approach.

The Evolutionary Studies Program

2019
Abstract The Evolutionary Studies (EvoS) Seminar Series at New Paltz is accompanied by an exciting, interdisciplinary class (Evolutionary Studies 301 [Evolutionary Studies Seminar or Evolutionary Studies Capstone]). This class surrounds New Paltz’s award-winning EvoS Seminar Series, which includes speakers from a variety of intellectual ...

Evolutionary tree genetic programming

Proceedings of the 7th annual conference on Genetic and evolutionary computation, 2005
We introduce a clustering-based method of subpopulation management in genetic programming (GP) called Evolutionary Tree Genetic Programming (ETGP). The biological motivation behind this work is the observation that the natural evolution follows a tree-like phylogenetic pattern. Our goal is to simulate similar behavior in artificial evolutionary systems

Evolutionary computer programming

2009
Nature offers a tremendous amount of extremely complicated problems which cannot easily be rationalized and resolved. Probably one has to accept that there are scientific and technological problems too complex to be directly rationalized by humans. A well-known example is the non-periodical movement of many gravitationally interacting bodies in space ...
