Evolutionary programming for mix design
Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 1997Abstract An evolution method for the solution of a mix design problem is proposed. It is an application of genetic algorithms in which the ratio of ingredients have evolved. In this paper, the evolution algorithm, new crossover methods and mutation schemes are introduced.

Is the Evolutionary Programmed/ Non-programmed Aging Argument Moot?
Current Aging Science, 2015There are two modern evolutionary theories of mammal senescence: Programmed theories contend that mammals purposely limit their lifespans because doing so creates an evolutionary advantage. Non-programmed theories contend that each mammal specie only needs a particular lifespan and therefore only evolved and retained the capability for attaining that ...

Programming as an evolutionary process
1976Programming is studied as an evolutionary process (starting with the problem description and ending with some computer program), which is done in a sequence of transformation steps. Nature of these steps at several levels is illustrated by typical examples.

Evolutionary Programming with Operator Adaptation
7th IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (CIT 2007), 2007This paper investigated evolutionary programming with operator adaptation at both population level and individual level. The fitness distributions were employed to update operators at population level while the immediate reward or punishment from the feedback of mutations was applied to change operators at individual level.

An Overview of Evolutionary Programming
1999Evolutionary programming is a method for simulating evolution that has been investigated for over 35 years. This paper offers an introduction to evolutionary programming, and indicates its relationship to other methods of evolutionary computation, specifically genetic algorithms and evolution strategies.

Survey Of Evolutionary Automatic Programming
2003Before conducting a survey of Evolutionary Automatic Programming, it is worth considering what we mean by the term Automatic Programming Since the inception of a programmable computing device, researchers have sought to achieve Automatic Programming. The meaning of this term, however, has changed over time, as expectations are relative to the current ...

Dynamic Programming - Evolutionary Distance
2011The authors show how one can determine from their genetic information how closely two organisms are related to each other, and they show how we can see from mutations how far apart the organisms are from each other, or from a common ancestor. This is an optimization problem, and the authors use it to explain dynamic programming – first, split problems ...

Conclusion. Programming as an Evolutionary Process
1982In order to solve a complicated problem, two extreme approaches may be adopted: a sufficiently complicated machine is used with the prospect of finding a “simple” solution, or a simple machine is used and we have to expect a “complicated” solution.
