Study of sperm parameters in the retuertas horse [PDF]
Geographical concentration and scarce census of the Retuertas horse force to design a complete conservation plan. One of the used tools as a mean of ex situ conservation was the creation of a germplasm bank.

Composition‐Aware Cross‐Sectional Integration for Spatial Transcriptomics
Multi‐section spatial transcriptomics demands coherent cell‐type deconvolution, domain detection, and batch correction, yet existing pipelines treat these tasks separately. FUSION unifies them within a composition‐aware latent framework, modeling reads as cell‐type–specific topics and clustering in embedding space.

Abstract Premise Understanding the habitat requirements of imperiled flora is critical for informing ex situ conservation practices, designing effective reintroduction strategies, and understanding how climate change will impact such species, especially in montane regions with high levels of environmental heterogeneity. In southern Appalachia, USA, the

Conservation without nature: the trouble with in situ versus ex situ conservation
Abstract Although understudied in academia and mostly unheard of by the general public, the in situ / ex situ dichotomy has shaped—and still very much shapes—the development of the nature conservation movement and its institutional alliances in the last few decades.

Novel and biocompatible photoactivatable oxytocin and vasopressin probes, utilising state‐of‐the‐art photocages, remain inactive in the dark. Light exposure facilitates rapid spatiotemporal receptor activation and phospholipase C (PLC)‐mediated downstream signalling. Figure created in https://BioRender.com.

Costing the ex situ conservation of genetic resources: maize and wheat at CIMMYT [PDF]
Worldwide, the number of genebanks and the amount of seed stored in them has increased substantially over the past few decades. Most attention is focused on the likely benefits from conservation, but conserving germplasm involves costs whose nature and ...

Gonadal development in scorpion mud‐turtles, Kinosternon scorpioides, in a controlled environment
Stage 20 was identified as the critical point for gonadal differentiation in Kinosternon scorpioides, providing key insights into sex determination. These findings enhance conservation strategies by supporting reproductive management and population viability in both in situ and ex situ programs. Abstract Research on gonadal development including sexual
