Characterization of the aroma and flavor profiles of guava fruit (Psidium guajava) during developing by HS-SPME-GC/MS and RNA sequencing

open access: yesFood Chemistry: Molecular Sciences
The flavor of guava, an important tropical fruit, is influenced by secondary metabolites. However, the mechanisms and processes underlying flavor formation in guava remain unclear.

Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Analyses of the MADS-Box Gene During Flowering in Primulina huaijiensis

open access: yesPlants
Primulina huaijiensis is a promising candidate for eco-bottle flowers, yet the genes related to flowering remain unexplored despite the availability of genomic data for several years. MADS-box genes constitute a large family of transcription factors that

Ex Situ Plant Conservation and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yesBioScience, 2006
Abstract In recent years, the mission of many botanic gardens and arboreta has expanded from a traditional focus on developing a horticultural collection to one that includes taking a proactive role in plant conservation. To use their limited resources more effectively, many gardens are seeking ways to quantify their contributions to conservation ...

Evolution and diversification of Ca2+/H+ exchangers: insights into karst-plant adaption to high-calcium environment

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Calcium (Ca2+) is a critical mineral essential for plant growth, development, and signal transduction. The CAX (Ca²⁺/H⁺ exchanger) family represents a group of key transmembrane transporters that mediate Ca2+ transport and homeostasis, thereby

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.
