Acute exacerbation of macroglossia
British Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2005We report the case of a large venous malformation of the tongue, preventing the patient from being able to contain it within the oral cavity. Exacerbation of Parkinsonism by Tacrine
Clinical Neuropharmacology, 1992A patient with Alzheimer's disease and mild features of parkinsonism was treated with tacrine. Tremor and gait dysfunction worsened but responded to the addition of levodopa without adversely affecting cognitive function. The implications for experimental treatment strategies of patients with combined Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease are discussed.

Viruses in asthma exacerbations
Current Opinion in Internal Medicine, 2005Respiratory viruses are well recognized as major triggers of acute exacerbations of asthma in children and adults, resulting in frequent outpatients visits and hospitalizations. Clinical and epidemiologic evidence supports this association. The application of molecular diagnostic methods has improved understanding of viral epidemiology and the ...

Epidemiology of asthma exacerbations
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2008Exacerbations of asthma sufficient to require urgent medical intervention are often, but not always, associated with viral infection, especially rhinovirus, with significant interaction with allergen sensitization and exposure. Seasonal patterns of exacerbations are seen especially in children, and may be aggravated by lack of adequate maintenance anti-
