Venous Thromboembolism in Pediatric Bone Sarcoma Patients: A 10‐Year, Single‐Institution Experience Encompassing the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

On the canonical solution of $\protect \,\protect \,\protect \overline{\protect \!\partial }$ on polydisks

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2020
We observe that the recent result of Chen–McNeal [6] implies that the canonical solution operator satisfies Sobolev estimates with a loss of $n-2$ derivatives on the polydisk $\Delta ^n$ and particularly is exact regular on $\Delta ^2$.

Exact Graph Structure Estimation with Degree Priors [PDF]

open access: yes2009 International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, 2009
We describe a generative model for graph edges under specific degree distributions which admits an exact and efficient inference method for recovering the most likely structure. This binary graph structure is obtained by reformulating the inference problem as a generalization of the polynomial time combinatorial optimization known as b-matching ...

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Exact Null Controllability of KdV-Burgers Equation with Memory Effect Systems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
This paper is concerned with exact null controllability analysis of nonlinear KdV-Burgers equation with memory. The proposed approach relies upon regression tool to prove controllability property of linearized KdV-Burgers equation via Carleman estimates.

Exact Maximum-Entropy Estimation with Feynman Diagrams [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2018
A classical longstanding open problem in statistics is finding an explicit expression for the probability measure which maximizes entropy with respect to given constraints. In this paper a solution to this problem is found, using perturbative Feynman calculus. The explicit expression is given as a sum over weighted trees.

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

EXACT DISTRIBUTION THEORY IN STRUCTURAL ESTIMATION WITH AN IDENTITY [PDF]

open access: yesEconometric Theory, 2009
Some exact distribution theory is developed for structural equation models with and without identities. The theory includes LIML, IV, and OLS. We relate the new results to earlier studies in the literature, including the pioneering work of Bergstrom (1962).

Exact Performance of CoD Estimators in Discrete Prediction [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2010
The coefficient of determination (CoD) has significant applications in genomics, for example, in the inference of gene regulatory networks. We study several CoD estimators, based upon the resubstitution, leave-one-out, cross-validation, and bootstrap error estimators.
