On an exact populationary model of genetic algorithms
Information Sciences, 1997Abstract Genetic algorithms (GAs) are search methods that are being employed in a multitude of applications with extremely large search spaces. Recently, there have been considerable interest among GA researchers in understanding and formalizing the working of GAs.

An Exact Anisotropic Quark Star Model
Chinese Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2002We present an exact analytical solution of the gravitational field equa- tions describing a static spherically symmetric anisotropic quark matter distribution. The radial pressure inside the star is assumed to obey a linear equation of state, while the tangential pressure is a complicated function of the radial coordinate.

Exact diagonalization of quantum-spin models
Physical Review B, 1990We have developed a technique to replace hashing in implementing the Lancz\"os method for exact diagonalization of quantum-spin models that enables us to carry out numerical studies on substantially larger lattices than previously studied. We describe the algorithm in detail and present results for the ground-state energy, the first-excited-state ...

Exact results for a model of interface growth
Physical Review E, 1995We study in detail a recently proposed model of interface growth that admits an exact solution [T. J. Newman, Phys. Rev. E 49, R2525 (1994)]. In addition to explicitly calculating the previously reported results for the interface width, we investigate the role of the temporal cutoff.

Exact Solution of Random Tiling Models
Physics Reports, 1998The quasicrystalline state of matter and the role of quasiperiod-icity are is discussed. Both energetic and entropic mechanisms may stabilize the quasicrystalline phase. For systems where entropy plays the dominant role, random tiling models are the appropriate description. These are discrete statistical models, without an underlying lattice.

Exact modelling of scalar 2D arrays
Kybernetika, 1994Summary: We analyse the problem of modelling a noise free finite 2D scalar array. We introduce the concept of unfalsified model and of undominated unfalsified model. We give some methods for verifying if a model is unfalsified and we study the properties of undominated unfalsified models.
