Monochromatic excimer light (308 nm) versus monochromatic excimer light (308 nm) and 4% khellin extract in treatment of psoriasis

open access: yesAl-Azhar Assiut Medical Journal
Background and aim Psoriasis is a chronic proliferative and inflammatory condition of the skin characterized by erythematous plaques covered with silvery scales, particularly over the extensor surfaces, scalp, and lumbosacral region.

Far-ultraviolet signatures of the 3He(n,tp) reaction in noble gas mixtures

open access: yes, 2010
Previous work showed that the 3He(n,tp) reaction in a cell of 3He at atmospheric pressure generated tens of far-ultraviolet photons per reacted neutron. Here we report amplification of that signal by factors of 1000 and more when noble gases are added to

Room‐Temperature, Photo‐Densified High Refractive Index Titanium Oxide Thin Films for Solution‐Processed Flexible Bragg Mirrors and Microcavity OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents the room‐temperature fabrication of solution‐processed, high refractive index TiOX thin films via photo‐densification. Using these films, flexible Bragg mirrors are demonstrated on PET substrates, achieving a high reflectivity of 96% at 450 nm.

Carbene–Metal–Amide Materials Design: Tailoring π‐Extended Amides for High‐Performance Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sky‐blue and green thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters, carbene–gold–amides (CMA), possess near unity photoluminescent quantum yields and high radiative rates up to 2.1 × 106 s−1. Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLED) emit sky‐blue electroluminescence with efficiency over 20%, including host‐free OLED architecture, with operating stability ...

Wafer Scale III‐Nitride Deep‐Ultraviolet Vertical‐Cavity Surface‐Emitting Lasers Featuring Nanometer‐Class Control of Cavity Length

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DUV‐VCSEL strategy featuring the nanometer‐class control of the cavity length is proposed in the DUV optoelectronic framework based on GaN templates. After the sapphire removal, a self‐terminated etching technology is developed, whereby the cavity length can be accurately determined by epitaxy instead of the fabrication process. As such, a record low

Integration of Freestanding High‐k Oxide Membranes for 2D Ferroelectric Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a defect‐tolerant integration strategy that enables freestanding BaTiO3 membranes to form low‐leakage top‐gate junctions with MoS2. The resulting FeFETs exhibit a record 0.22 V nm−1 memory window, ultrahigh‐k response, and near‐ideal subthreshold swings.

Electrocautery Needling and the 308-nm Excimer Lamp: A Synergistic Combination for the Treatment of Stable Non-segmental Vitiligo

open access: yesDermatology and Therapy, 2020
Introduction Vitiligo is an acquired chronic depigmentation disorder caused by the destruction of melanocytes. Although various treatments have been proposed for the management of vitiligo, achieving repigmentation and preventing relapse remains ...

Thioflavin T fluoresces as excimer in highly concentrated aqueous solutions and as monomer being incorporated in amyloid fibrils

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Fluorescence of thioflavin T (ThT) is a proven tool for amyloid fibrils study. The correct model of ThT binding to fibrils is crucial to clarify amyloid fibrils structure and mechanism of their formation.
