Excimer laser-induced vasoreactivity

European Heart Journal, 1993
Earlier generations of excimer lasers, designed for industrial or non-cardiovascular medical applications, have been previously shown consistently to induce vasorelaxation of vascular smooth muscle in vitro. Such lasers were typically characterized by pulse durations of < or = 15 nanoseconds (ns).

Excimer laser surgery for keratoconus

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1998
To determine whether there is increased risk associated with excimer laser surgery of primary keratoconus.Department of Ophthalmology, County Council Hospital, Ryhov, Jönköping, Sweden.Twenty-four eyes in 23 patients with keratoconus had photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) to reduce the steepness of the cone.

Excimer Laser Applications

1985
Until recently excimer lasers have been used almost exclusively in basic research, e.g. to pump dye lasers. However, this is not the only potentially useful application. The output of excimer lasers differs in one aspect quite drastically from all other known uv-light sources, namely fluence, which is number of photons per cm2 and sec.

Excimer Laser - Teil 2: Erste Erfahrungen mit dem Excimer Laser in Luzern

Klinische Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde, 1992
In the period between September 1990 and July 1991, 35 patients (46 eyes) were treated with the Excimer Laser. In 25 patients (34 eyes), a Myopia-Laser-Shaping was performed, one patient was treated for both myopia and astigmatism. In eight patients (10 eyes) correction of astigmatism was carried out.

Excimer Lasers In Medicine

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
Excimer lasers emit light energy, short optical pulses at ultraviolet wavelengths, that results in a unique laser tissue interaction. This has led to an increasing number of studies into medical applications of these lasers in fields such as ophthalmology, urology, cardiology and neurology.

Excimer Laser Therapy

2015
Excimer laser therapy is a new valuable option for treating various dermatologic conditions. The most part of the published results focuses on efficacy and safety in treating psoriasis and vitiligo, both in adults and children. New encouraging results for treating atopic dermatitis and alopecia areata, in all age groups, are under evaluation.

Excimer laser treatment of pterygium

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1992
Abstract Primary experience with the use of eximer laser in pterygium therapy is presented. Twenty‐two pterygia (11 primary and 11 recurrent) were surgically removed using the bare‐sclera technique followed by excimer laser ablation to smoothen the corneal surface. As recurrence was observed in 20 eyes (91%) during the first year, supplementary excimer

Excimer Laser Angioplasty

1999
Although balloon angioplasty has been a significant advance in the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease, this treatment is limited by a significant incidence of restenosis that averages about 50% in most recent reports.1,2,3 Restenosis after balloon angioplasty is associated with the healing response of vascular tissue to injury and ...

Micromachining with Excimer Laser

CIRP Annals, 1998
Abstract This paper deals with micromachining of different materials using a 100 W excimer laser at RTM laboratories. The first part of the works reports the results of optical simulations carried out on several layouts calculated using a sequential ray tracer in order to evaluate the aberrations and improve the performance of the optics and masks ...
