Theory of resonantly excited high-density excition systems

Journal of Luminescence, 1988
Abstract Optical spectra of resonantly excited high density exciton systems, self-consistently calculated on the basis of a recently developed many particle theory, are presented.

Excitation transfer in disordered systems

1981
Disorder profoundly affects excitation transport in solids. Plane wave solutions lose relevancy, and marked departures from conventional band transport can occur. In particular, in the limit of strong disorder, the wave functions of an otherwise pure crystal become localized. At zero temperature, transport becomes impossible.

Discussion: Excitation system redundancy

2008 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting - Conversion and Delivery of Electrical Energy in the 21st Century, 2008
Today, technology continues to evolve as more functionality is placed into smaller packages with the aid of new innovative hardware and improving software in digital excitation systems. The advancement of the microprocessor has provided the means to increase the feature function capacity into less hardware and provide additional means to enhance ...

The brushless excitation system

Electrical Engineering, 1960
A NEW TYPE of excitation system has been developed for use in the electric utility industry in which the generator collector and collector brushes, and the exciter commutator and commutator brushes are eliminated. The basic difference between this system and its predecessors is an a-c exciter mounted on the same shaft as the generator field.

Brushless Thyristor Excitation Systems.

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1972
This paper shows how brushless thyristor excitation systems for large synchronous generators are being evolved in the authors' organisation, outlines the electrical and mechanical advantages that accrue, and includes some results of a digital computer comparison of such systems with other forms of excitation.

Highly Excited Systems

1987
The structure and dynamics of weakly bound molecular systems are often characterized by low potential barriers and large tunelling probabilities. Similar effects can be observed for molecules with internal motions, especially if these molecules are excited to energies near to or over above the barriers.

Retrofitting static exciter regulators for rotating exciter systems

Conference Record of Annual Pulp and Paper Industry Technical Conference, 2003
The author reviews the various rotating exciter systems and their retrofitting to new static exciter excitation equipment. It is noted that, where rotary exciter rewinding and general excitation system upgrading is considered, the shunt static exciter regulator represents an attractive alternative to power plant life extension.

System With Excitation Control

International Journal of MC Square Scientific Research, 2011
Two ad-hoc, power allocation strategies for a decentralized distributed Space Time Block Coding (Dis-STBC) system is proposed in this paper where knowledge about the Channel State Information (CSI) is not available at the transmitter. The first is an open-loop strategy which requires no control signaling; the second is a feedback-assisted strategy ...

Applying Static Excitation Systems

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 1998
Many power generation plants in the pulp and paper industry are faced with high maintenance and downtime due to the excitation system. DC field breakers, motor driven rheostats, rotating exciter failures, commutator deterioration, and replacement parts for the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) are just a few of the problems typical of these aged power ...
