Polysilane excited states and excited state dynamics
Chemical Physics, 1990Abstract Femtosecond time-resolved excited state absorption spectroscopy is used to reveal excited states of linear-chain poly(di- n -hexylsilane) about 1 eV and in the range of 3.5 eV above the lowest excited state. A description of the excited state dynamics following optical excitation in polysilanes is presented. The concept of conjugation length

Excited-State Dynamics of Wurster’s Salts
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012The excited-state dynamics of a series of Wurster's salts (p-phenylenediamine radical cations) with different subtituents on the nitrogen atoms was investigated under a variety of experimental conditions using a combination of ultrafast spectroscopic techniques.

WIREs Computational Molecular Science, 2011
AbstractExcited‐state dynamics is the field of theoretical and physical chemistry devoted to simulating molecular processes induced upon UV‐visible light absorption. This involves nuclear dynamics methods to determine the time evolution of the molecular geometry used in concert with electronic structure methods capable of computing electronic excited ...

Role of excited states in multiphoton dynamics
Physical Review A, 1988Multiphoton ionization of hydrogen, at laser frequencies, is studied numerically using the stretched hydrogen atom Hamiltonian. In particular, the role of excited bound states in short-pulse, above-threshold ionization (ATI) is emphasized. These states are shown to play a dynamical role both in the production of the higher ATI peaks as well as in the ...

Symmetry controlled excited state dynamics
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2019Symmetry effects in internal conversion are studied by means of two isomeric cyclic tertiary aliphatic amines in a velocity map imaging (VMI) experiment on the femtosecond timescale. We conclude that lessening the symmetry of the molecule leads to loss of coherence after internal conversion between Rydberg states.

Excited state dynamics of aniline homoclusters
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2019We have investigated the relaxation, following excitation in the 290–235 nm region, of neutral aniline homoclusters (An) n formed in a supersonic expansion by femtosecond time resolved ionization.

Excited-State Dynamics of Cytosine Tautomers
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009We report the relaxation dynamics of keto and enol or keto-imino cytosine, photoexcited in the wavelength range of 260-290 nm. Three transients with femtosecond to hundreds of picoseconds lifetimes are observed for the biologically relevant keto tautomer and are assigned to internal conversion and excited-state tautomerization. Only two transients with
