Advances in FGF/FGFR Signaling: Implications for Disease and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
The FGF/FGFR signaling is indispensable for the maintenance of physiological homeostasis and governs multiple biological processes, including embryonic development, bone metabolism, angiogenesis, and neurogenesis, whereas aberrant hyperactivation of this pathway drives the progression of malignancies and autoimmune disorders, including inflammatory ...

Leucine aminopeptidase is an immunodominant antigen of Fasciola hepatica excretory and secretory products in human infections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The liver fluke Fasciola hepatica parasitizes humans and ruminant livestock worldwide, and it is now being considered a reemerging zoonotic disease, especially in areas in which it is endemic, such as South America.

Immunodiagnosis of trichinella infection in the horse

open access: yesParasite, 2001
From 1998 to 2000, 5,267 horse sera were collected from several Trichinella regions in Romania. Sera were initially screened in laboratories in Romania, Serbia and Italy with an ELISA and a Western blot (Wb) using an excretory/secretory (ES) antigen and ...

Current Cell/Organoid and Animal Models for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 241-259, September 2026.
Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease with limited therapeutic options and a marked risk of progression to biliary fibrosis, cirrhosis, and malignancy. Progress in PSC research has been hindered by the lack of models that faithfully recapitulate the complex biliary microenvironment and disease heterogeneity ...

PURIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF EXCRETORY/ SECRETORY ANTIGENS OF FASCIOLA GIGANTICA

open access: yes, 2020
Excretory/ Secretory (E/S) antigen of adult used for the purification of E/S antigen. A total of 6.4 mg of E/S antigen was obtained from the 60 flukes collected from slaughter houses.

Characterisation of Necator americanus excretory/secretory products [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Jayden Logan studied the excretory/secretory proteins from the human hookworm. He made some of these proteins outside of the worm and tested them in inflammatory models of disease.

A Review on Heat Stress in Broiler Chickens: Mechanisms, Effects and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Heat stress caused by high temperature and humidity compromises broiler health, welfare, and productivity by reducing feed intake, growth performance, and feed efficiency, while increasing mortality, oxidative stress, metabolic disturbances, intestinal dysfunction, gut dysbiosis, immune suppression, and meat quality deterioration.

Urotensin II Receptor Deletion Mitigates Kidney Injury and Renal Lipid Remodeling in Mice Fed a Long‐Term High‐Fat Diet

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Urotensin II receptor deletion mitigates high‐fat diet‐induced kidney injury and renal lipid remodeling. Male wild‐type (WT) and urotensin II receptor–knockout (UT KO) mice were fed a high‐fat diet (HFD; 60% kcal from fat) for 33 weeks. In cultured mouse podocytes, urotensin II (UII)–UT signaling enhanced transient receptor potential canonical 6 (TRPC6)

S1 guideline sweat gland carcinoma

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, Volume 24, Issue 9, Page e1356-e1385, September 2026.
Summary The current classification of sweat gland carcinomas is based on histomorphological characteristics and distinguishes between more than 20 entities. Most patients are older, but some subtypes also affect middle‐aged and younger patients. The majority of tumors arise de novo. Sweat gland carcinomas have nonspecific clinical features.
