A novel carbon fiber reinforcement for dielectric elastomer actuators enhances actuation force while decoupling electromechanical performance from the actuator's aspect ratio. Unlike conventional fiber reinforcements, it enables a uniform planar stretch state along the entire actuator.

Imitative Exemplarism: An Exposition and Defense
Imitative Exemplarism is the view that God's knowledge of creatures as objects of potential creation is acquired through reflection on his own essence-as-nature, by means of which He is able to see that nature as infinitely participable by creatures ...

If cultivating phronesis – broadly understood as excellence in ethical decision making – and the related moral virtues is a central aim of neo-Aristotelian character education, then, in this context, it follows that the aim of a moral developmental ...

Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

God as moral anti-examplar in Spinoza [PDF]
This paper addresses the question of whether Spinoza subscribes to moral exemplarism, defined as any moral theory including the idea that it is morally good, right, virtuous, praiseworthy, or obligatory to emulate certain figures identified as moral ...

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Exemplarist Virtue Ethics [PDF]
In his Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle introduces the concept of virtue, states of character that allow an agent to perform her function well, and gives a practical account of how someone can become virtuous. I will argue that Aristotle manages to be vague

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of
