Thermal Exergy Analysis of a Building
AbstractExergy analysis has been contemplated to evaluate the direct energy impact of a building on the environment. The authors’ approach is to consider the building as a “black box” that needs exergy. The surrounding and the Environment are closed systems, in thermodynamic equilibrium between them. The building is transient open system.

Exergy Analysis in Hydrogen‐Air Detonation [PDF]
The main goal of this paper is to analyze the exergy losses during the shock and rarefaction wave of hydrogen‐air mixture. First, detonation parameters (pressure, temperature, density, and species mass fraction) are calculated for three cases where the hydrogen mass fraction in air is 1.5%, 2.5%, and 5%.

The Energy and Exergy of Light with Application to Societal Exergy Analysis [PDF]
Lighting provides an indispensable energy service, illumination. The field of societal exergy analysis considers light (and many other energy products) to be enablers of economic growth, and lighting contributes a non-negligible proportion of total useful exergy supplied to modern economies.

Abstract Electrification of distillation offers a promising route to reducing scope‐1 emissions from one of the chemical industry's most energy‐intensive unit operations. However, conventional adiabatic columns are dynamically inflexible: Long, energy‐intensive start‐ups make shutdown and restart impractical under variable electricity prices and ...
