Selecting Between Hydrogen and Methanol for Fuel Cell‐Organic Rankine Cycle Hybrid Power Systems: A Comparative 4E Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A 4E comparison of PEMFC‐ORC and DMFC‐ORC systems shows that PEMFC‐ORC achieves 21% higher energy efficiency, while DMFC‐ORC obtains 31% higher exergy efficiency and 57% lower levelized cost of electricity. However, DMFC‐ORC emits nearly twice the annual carbon dioxide equivalent of PEMFC‐ORC.

The ambient temperature influence on deaerator exergy efficiency and exergy losses [PDF]

open access: yesIV International Scientific Conference Summer Session Industry 4.0: Proceedings, 2019
The exergy analysis of deaerator at three different steam power plant loads is performed in this paper. Also, the influence of the ambient temperature change on deaerator exergy efficiency and losses is analyzed. From the exergy viewpoint, deaerator operation shows the best characteristics at middle and high power plant loads.

Techno‐Economic Analysis and Multi‐Objective Optimization of a Novel Combined Cooling and Power System Driven by Geothermal Source and Waste Heat From Data Center

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A novel combined cooling and power generation system is proposed by integrating organic Rankine cycle (ORC) with an absorption heat transformer, which is driven by combining geothermal energy and data center's waste heat. The system using R601a yielded the best overall performance, achieving an exergy efficiency of 40.34% and an annual cost of 130.29 k$

Influence of Structural and Environmental Parameters on Solar Air Collector Performance

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Increasing air gap depth and mass flow rate significantly enhances the thermal performance of solar air collectors, with optimal performance achieved at an 8.5 cm air gap and 0.01318 kg/s mass flow rate. Air gap depth is identified as the dominant factor influencing system efficiency.
