Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Numerical solutions of neutral stochastic functional differential equations
This paper examines the numerical solutions of neutral stochastic functional differential equations (NSFDEs) $d[x(t)-u(x_t)]=f(x_t)dt+g(x_t)dw(t)$, $t\geq 0$.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Existence of mild solutions on semiinfinite interval for first order differential equation with nonlocal condition [PDF]
summary:In this paper we investigate the existence of mild solutions defined on a semiinfinite interval for initial value problems for a differential equation with a nonlocal condition.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Nonlinear perturbations of the Kirchhoff equation
In this article we study the existence and uniqueness of local solutions for the initial-boundary value problem for the Kirchhoff equation $$\displaylines{ u'' - M(t,\|u(t)\|^{2})\Delta u + |u|^{\rho} =f \quad\text{in } \Omega \times (0, T_0), \cr u=
